Interesting Information I have learned today:

300 million years ago some insects were much larger than they are today. From fossils, it has been confirmed that some mayflies had wingspan of over 45cm (17in). The largest known insect was a griffenfly with a wingspan of 66-70cm (26-28in).

Approximately 10% of the flying insect lineage have lost their ability to fly.

This book contains a plethora of knowledge on the study of winged animals and insects. It is actually holding my attention quite well. This would be perfect reference book for teachers/students. My only gripe is that it lacks an index and glossary.
