Status Updates From A Small Country about to Va...

Man this story is getting looong... it's not that the author didn't have a way with language, she absolutely does, 'cept when talking about sex, which she does way to often. But I'm determined to skim read it to the end. I will. I really do.

Oy vey! Couldn't she just have put all that in the front, it would have spared me a lot of reading time... oh, well, I guess I will push trough anyway.

Towards the end of part one the author gives us a sexscene which is nothing short of pornographic, and I'm not really sure if it has much bearing on the story, if any at all. Again I wonder what is about authors and their obssession with sex...

I'm love with the language, the metaphors, the stark realism of the story and characters. So far we heard Shelli's memories of her childhood growing up with Rona, of their friendship wich broke apart at their reaching sixteen. But now the viewpoints have switched and we still have to learn what led to their breaking up their friendship. A quiet story fueled by nostagia and disillusionment, a mature lovestory.

Seems to be a basic "dissatisfied housewife" story with a new setting.
