There are some heavy characters in this book of short stories.

So far this is nothing like what I might have expected from this author, and I am enjoying every page. On one level I want to rush through, but I am trying to exercise self control to savoir each story and not miss anything along the way. The first story in this book started fairly normal and then took me in a direction I did not see coming. I loved it. I thought this prepared me, but I was surprised again.
