Status Updates From The Screwtape Letters

Almost done, finished the letters and now reading the toast. My final thoughts still remain that the quality of the book heavily revolves around the letter you’re on. Some letters show how CSL had some timeless predictions that really relate to the modern world.

Ch. 13 & 14: The devil wants us to live in the future most (it is the most changing and unpredictable, therefore more prone to anxiety, worry, and fear). Or, he prefers is to live in condemnation of our past, so we feel that we can never be redeemed or feel joy again. Screwtape mentions a sort of desire for the church to become cliques or social clubs devoid of any true meaning of the scripture.

The schedule was so hectic but still managed to get through the book.
