I can understand the inspiration for this book and the idea certainly is good but the execution is just creepy. For me it comes close to condoning abuse because she's a nymphomaniac. It's neither sexy nor erotic and I certainly don't want to imagine my gynecologist of having such thoughts and examining me that way...
I get what it's about but the approach is just....

This "examination" is everything else than erotic. It's down right creepy and abusive...

I'm not happy with john's straight forwardness once dad is out, since the build up was so slow paced.

I never read blurbs when I start a book because it's the book's task to introduce me to the setting. Thus far only the writing style hints which time period we're in an that's not good. Even more so because names like "dark passage" sound so ridiciulous to me...
