Status Updates From Pickett's Charge: A New Loo...

So annoying the way the author constantly refers to the Irish troops as “Sons of Erin.”

The troops are on the move at last! Interesting how the artillery isn’t supporting well.

Unbelievably turgid style. The author cites the names and histories of every man in every regiment. He has a repetitive approach that emphasizes Lee’s plan “to attack the weak right center“ at every turn. He has described the placement of the Union calvary so far at least three times. Thank goodness it’s an audio book, so I can do other things while he drones on.

I don’t agree with his thesis that Pickett played a minor role in the charge. Let’s see how the book plays out!
