Unbelievably turgid style. The author cites the names and histories of every man in every regiment. He has a repetitive approach that emphasizes Lee’s plan “to attack the weak right center“ at every turn. He has described the placement of the Union calvary so far at least three times. Thank goodness it’s an audio book, so I can do other things while he drones on.

I don’t agree with his thesis that Pickett played a minor role in the charge. Let’s see how the book plays out!
