Status Updates From M is for Autism

That was quite the interesting chapter! I’m glad we’re getting closer to M being diagnosed now. However, I can’t help but feel like I’m observing the story rather than being present in it. The book rarely describes things, and it tells more than it shows. I’m curious to see what’ll happen next.

Once again, that was an interesting chapter. I think it highlights the misunderstanding of what autism looks like in girls. Yet, again, it had a case of “tell don’t show.” This could be attributed to the limited pages, but still. I’m curious to see what happens in the story next.

I have mixed feelings about this chapter. I liked M's dynamic with Joe, but the romance with Lynx feels weak. In chapter two of the sequel, M claims she’s never spoken to Lynx, yet she knows specific things about him. Like his intelligence and calm demeanor I'm anxious about what will happen next.

Okay, things appear to get more interesting. I like how I got to see the mom’s perspective, it’s not something I see often in middle grade literature. It also looks like her parents misunderstand her, but in different ways. However, the writing did get repetitive at times. I’m interested to see what happens next.

Wow, that was quite the intriguing chapter. I liked seeing what M’s family dynamic is like, particularly with her brother. They appear to have a strained relationship. Also, I’m struggling to understand how M became infatuated with Lynx so quickly. He just seemed to be thrown into the story. I’m curious to see how the story continues.

Okay, this story seems like it’s an interesting ride! I got more insight into how severe M’s anxiety could get. I also think it’s fascinating how M chose her nickname, although I do wish I could’ve learned what her real name is. Her counselor also seems nice, too. I’m intrigued to see what happens next.

This doesn’t seem like a terrible read. I don’t know a lot about M yet, but that could be because I only read the prologue. She seems like a relatable character, though. I hope I can get to know M more.
