Chapter 4: The Farewell is all about George Washington’s Farewell address. As important as this address was, it would more accurately be called a Farewell Letter as it was never given as a speech. Washington had his letter published in Newspapers for all the public to read.
His Address summarized his time in office and left advice for the American people and their still new government.

Chapter Three: The Silence - the Founding Fathers silence on the issue of slavery. While they were not silent on this topic in their debates, their finalized documents were decidedly silent. While slavery was against many of their mindsets and ideals, there were of course those that did not extend the Declaration of Independence’s “equality of all men” to slaves.

The first of the six events to be covered in this book that follow the 1790s, the early period of the Republic, is that of The Duel. This of course is the duel that occurred between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr.
Basically, Burr was upset at Hamilton and became even more upset when Hamilton didn’t properly apologize.
