I read a chapter a day of this gem. It is a tough read, it’s dated, but our mother’s and grandmother’s lived this life. In the mid 1940’s 51% of women in America were married at 18. That is astounding!! Oh how times have changed. I am so happy to have been born when I was and I am hopeful that my daughter’s will enjoy a more equal life than I have.

This book gets more fascinating with each chapter. The actions of a few influential people shaped the views of women for so long.
