But WOW what a lot of good stuff. Marcel might very well be my favorite character of them all, despite/because he's a walk-on. DNA results are so much a part of the story. That comes across very well to me.

Pace never slacks in these books!

And the family, sweet baby jeebus! Poor son, so horrible; but the wife's desperate confusion is heartbreaking.

A bit about the politics of the force, a competing case is coming to a crisis point, the evidence of this crime's hinkyness mounting...and Nico, calm cool collected, handles all the information inputs, details, actions completed/assigned.

A pleasure to read.

Queneau, Marc Walberg, & the sheer verve of the team's interactions almost makes up for the 2nd w-bomb on the next page.

I get it...I really do...lots of names, lots of titles, none of then familiar. Take your time, start w/THE 7TH WOMAN, read slowly until they all fit into place.

They will! Paris, her police, the men & women who serve the unexpectedly dead, all have a slot in Molay's stories.

I love the juxtaposition of the grossness of dissection w/the celebratory luncheon they all troop off to eat! Never fails to give me a chuckle.

I realize a lot of readers don't like the catch-you-up parts of procedurals, but I appreciate them...it's been most of a decade since I read THE 7TH WOMAN & no way in hell could I have recalled who these names were attached to w/o a refresher.
...and I've never reviewed that one...yowza
