there's an implication of body horror reminiscent of the ending of slewfoot, and i do hope it leans into that. the book has been pretty average thus far but i love a good bit of body horror

Unsettling, dark, and historically gripping. The Butcher of Nazareth was not a horror in the way that I expected it to be, it was less of a suspenseful psychological horror and more of a slow paced, unsettling energy that engulfed me as I read it. The Butcher gives of major Cormac McCarthy's Judge vibes, and the vibe of the book was very that.
