Status Updates From Ain't No Grave (The Penance...

Just got to a game changer. Loved it. First time I've seen something like that done. Ope, no, take that back, 28 Weeks Later did something similar, but still, satisfyingly dark.

Some plot holes that make me think the author hasn't done much rural snow country exploration.

Maybe the detail overload will taper of with the introduction of another character to pull the MC out of his own head. I hope so. The story is compelling though, despite the fact that I know the last time this town's diner was remodeled and the exact composition of the lumber used in its boardwalks.

Lac d'Hiver had better play a starring role in this book for as much as I'm having to learn about it. Too many details is what I'm saying, Softley.

Reading this for a group read, pleasantly surprised so far. Has a good start that hooks you in, should be a fast read.

It took me a chapter to ease into the writing style, but now that I'm there it's nice.
