What? Cool to read but this first chapter was like walking into an argument between different anthropologists. I guess that's scholarship though. If i sound cranky it's only coz i felt like i was missing some background info. The takeaways i took away were that Ms Douglas believes """primitive""" religions are not made up of symbols and spiritual beings and rituals with functional purpose. This will be relevant(?)
