The "after action" period is a lot more mundane, but that's to be expected.

This work provides just the right amount of details and depth about Roosevelt and his wild bunch. The mind inclined towards dramatic moments in history is going to have a lot to feast on with this book.

All of the social and political maneuvering that enabled Roosevelt to create his Regiment makes me wonder if anything even close to this would be possible today. Private Military Companies are one of the few domains in which this is still remotely possible.

The banjo-accompanied intro to the audiobook is endearing. :-)
