Really struggling to finish my pages for class. The book is really good and insightful but it’s such a heavy read that it’s hard to stay locked in for so many pages at once

Whenever I was taught about WEB DuBois, it was always in conjunction with Booker T Washington, as if the two were opposing forces. Reading his book, it's more accurate to say that DuBois' writing is meant to refute and clarify Washington's statements, viewing emancipation not through the lens of how freed slaves can fit into white society through trades, but how freed slaves can reach liberation through education.
