Status Updates From Hamlet

To be or not to be? That is the question

Reading for English class, oof

We finished Act 2 & 3 and I must say I’m really enjoying this so far. Finally getting around to actually reading Shakespeare’s works also is really making me understand how talented of a writer he is. Also as far as Hamlet specifically goes, I really love how it’s not afraid to get into the nitty gritty of the human identity and our grief. One final thing too is that I really loved the play within a play.

Rereading this because I didn’t really understand the praise of this play, but I’m halfway through and I still don’t really get it.

Are my expectations too high? Do I have to read/watch “Hamnet” to understand the Bard’s life at that time?
