So with advertising and comms it’s really a spend smart, target smart initiative. Very meticulous and so specific that this isn’t an area of politics I’d wanna work in. Also probably the most evident chapter of this book being a bit outdated.

So essentially, targeting and segmenting voters and doing statistical analysis can be useful if done efficiently.
Generally I have to wonder what the costs and overall worthy of doing so is on certain scales. Like, statewide or nationwide it can only be useful in certain areas, right? Unless of course you’re in a tough race.

So, opposition research is and has been critical and is easier than ever. However doing it right is critical and important as the internet makes standards lower, stories burn brighter and burnout quicker, and misinformation easy to spread.

So from this one it seems like it’s important to keep demographics and specifics of individual races in mind. Strategy has to be catered to individual races, moments, and trends.
