"And I say to my people's masters: Beware,
Beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people,
Who shall take what ye would not give. Did ye think to conquer the people,
Or that Law is stronger than life and than men's desire to be free?"

Every poem in this book makes me cry. Damn, even the table of contents and the foreword made me cry. Irish history and culture has so much in common with Ukrainian. Every word breaks my heart because I get it 💔💔😭😭😭

I love that there’s an introduction to the authors of the following poems, helps to know the subject of each poem. I’ve found reading the poetry aloud and even re-reading it helps to understand the meaning.
