Status Updates From Knowing Christ

"There is little doubt that almost all Christians are content to have won Christ and thus have received the gift of eternal life. But how many are equally concerned to know him? How often we cut Jesus in half, wishing to know that we are saved and that all is well with our destiny, but forgetting that to be truly saved means we must truly know him!"

A solid start to this book and I'm eager to continue this read.

What a closing chapter. I was unsure why he held the offices chapter to the end, but this was a marvelous capstone that summarized (as much as is possible) the glorious contents of this book.

Mostly worth it for the list of all the names of Christ at the end. This chapter (and the next, it seems) are like summaries of the whole book.

On Christ's Face is two chapters in one. The first is a concise, effective summary of Owen's useful teaching on sight by faith vs actual sight. The second is a theological argument for prudence regarding images of Christ. Jones lands against their usefulness without even referencing the Second commandment. At a minimum, people should read this chapter before watching the Chosen or buying a Jesus Storybook Bible.
