He theorizes that the venom is not potent in the stomach (a theory that I believe has now been debunked). One person transfers the venom from herself to a poor unfortunate rabbit. At the end of the chapter he discusses antidotes for all kinds of poisons such as mercury, lead, iodine.

Here talks about stone swallowers, and frog swallowers, and he deems them mostly to be genuine (both those he has researched and seen in person), and it seems to involve a lot of alcohol (as a lot of the acts described in the book seem to).
