Okay this is so much fun as of now. I love Josie, and I love Evan.

The angst is there but not overpowering enough that it takes over everything. I could do without so much self hate from the h but still really enjoying this

there is something about the bullied/ridiculed h that just appeals to me.

Evan stands up for Josie to the bully girls at a ball. Josie is worried that it will just make things worse.

It bothers me that even though he feels overwhelming lust for Josie, it never occurs to him that she might be worthy of courting.
Every time the thought of her possibly being ruined occurs, it's some other mythical guy who she might marry that wouldn't then want her any more because she's ruined.
So I still think he's selfish. His brother Gabriel is a turd.

Pretty shitty thing he did when they were kids. Called her a mean name to impress a prettier bitch. The name stuck and he didn't stand up for her. He still feels guilty about it but won't admit it to others.
This is the first they've seen each other in 4 years. Now Evan keeps thinking about her lush body. Her mother is horrid about her being unmarried and not skinny. She was chubby as a kid but is now curvaceous.
