Raithe ran toward the gate. “It’s your reward for hitting people with rocks.”

I like to think Malcolm found another brother in Raithe.

This is incredible!!
Second series from this author that I have read. I feel as though I can officially say this author is in my top three authors!

I shouldn’t over hype this book because it certainly doesn’t not put the “epic” in epic fantasy.
Such amazing story teller. In a fantasy world where there is belief of “gods” and “spirits” among them he has the ability to spin things into the mundane.

“Probably a sapling back then, eh, Padera?” Moya grinned.
“Hard to tell,” the old woman replied. “Sun hadn’t been born yet.”

Another beloved pair in this series.

“What do you think they’re saying?” Raithe asked, nudging Malcolm in the ribs.
“That you’re a fine-looking man, followed by a debate as to which of their sisters should be given in marriage.” He shrugged. “How should I know?”

I love the friendship between them. Now that I am rereading, some things are making more sense.
