Status Updates From The Kite Family

I understand the low ratings - you need to dig into what Hong Kong was like at the time these stories were written in order to "get" them to some degree. If you don't do that homework, they will not make any sense. I'm enjoying the read so far.

Time to finish off this fest of weirdness. It's been sitting on my currently-reading for close to a year now.

At first this was complete gibberish - you understand the words, but it seems every other sentence is from another story altogether. I guess you have to understand this book emotionally rather than rationally. If you have not experienced something similar in feeling, you will just not understand anything. But if there's something slightly resonant - it will move you. I've never read a book as deeply encoded as this.

The stories are pretty disjointed and jump around, disastrous when paired with reading in spurts on a commute. Abandoned.
