**Why had she turned back? Couldn't she see the Seeker?
No, of course she couldn't. The Seeker was hiding itself
from her, and she was a Lightbringer, so she didn't suspect a
thing. It took a bit of the Darkness to really understand and
see what the Dark was capable of, and a Lightbringer
wouldn't have Darkness in her. That was a Watcher's job, to
see the Dark and know it for what it was.**

so far it's ok. moves pretty fast. not too much story development yet. hopefully that changes soon.

Enjoying the plot of this novel, but you can tell it is her early work due to the abundance of showing and telling. Will be reading the other books at some point because I want to know what happens to everyone else. Quick, interesting read so far.

I have to admit -- how the hard right Church priests turning into the Crusade -- you know if magic was real & they had access to it -- totally believable. All about who can impose control over ideas & access to information.

What I like about this twist vs demon's librarian is the men are 'volunteers' in a sense -- they are enhanced to redeem themselves from what they were before. Tainted by choice -- not by genetics -- unlike the drakulien.
