Status Updates From An Unusual Courtship

Following up fluff with more fluff as I battle this spring cold

"[...] an excellent table was laid for their meal. There were lampreys in cream and a mutton pie along with an artfully moulded jelly in the shape of a sleeping lamb [...}"

Something tells me they are not actually eating lampreys in cream there. Then again, it's only fish after all, supposedly tastes like octopus and if you remove the head before putting it on the table, people might not get nightmares but still...
