On the one hand she talks about how covering up as a Muslim woman is liberating because she is no longer judged based on her looks, no longer a sexual object. On the other hand she talks about the judgement she receives from complete strangers who now believe she has no autonomy etc etc. Which is it? Are you judged or not judged? To me it still sounds like you're being judged by your appearance.

I didn't realise how vulnerable boy babies are, even as foetuses. Or that it's not only Autism that favors boys as far as 'disabilities' go. That's at least interesting to me as a future mother of a son. The other thing I realised is that I read a lot of books on gender issues, but few written about men in such a specific way. I walked right past this at a book sale, but my mom picked it up. I'm glad she did.
