Status Updates From The Canterbury Tales

The book is helping me to really admire the importance of poetry. Rhyme really satisfies some God given innate desire we all have buried in our mind and this book does a great job at making that evident.

Here we go again…

"You should be meek and patient too and have gentle scrupulous conscience yourself, since you keep on preaching about Job's patience. Be Patient always; practise what you preach, for if you don't we'll certainly teach you how much better it is to have peace in the house. No doubt, once of us must knuckle under; and since a man is more rational than a woman is, you ought to be the one to give way."

"Here you may see how sin is rewarded. And beware! For no man knows whom God will strike, nor how the worm of conscience may shudder at wicked behaviour even though it be no secret that none know of it but God and he. Layman or learned, he can never tell when the blow will fall. Therefore I recommend you to take this advice: Forsake sin before sin forsakes you."
