This book should be required reading. The text focuses on women’s behavior in a professional setting, but it’s principles can apply in all aspects of life. Surely, anyone can benefit from growing their self awareness and actively tailoring their behavior to best resemble the person they wish to be.

I QUIT. Telling women not to speak like women (lower your pitch. don't use vocal fry. stop uptalk.) isn't fucking feminist, and it's not fucking helpful. Hey authors, how about you write a book for men that tells them to fucking get over themselves and stop punishing women for being women. I HATE THIS BOOK. "You too can be equal to men in the workplace: by either conforming to stereotypes OR being like men!"

While I appreciate how this book presents gender discrimination, I fundamentally do not agree with the central thesis of this book, which is that women should essentially change themselves to fit into a sexist system. The book posits this as "accepting reality", but I'm from the "burn it down" school of feminism, and I want my books to tell me how to fucking burn it down, not how to put on heels and conform.
