I have a better grasp on a lot of the terminology Jung uses throughout his authorship, and his very specific often idiosyncratic usage of common words, than before reading this. I definitely have a clearer idea of his exact model of the human mind's interlocking functions, which was not always 100% clear in the other books of his I read. (something I used to find both Tom Chetwynd and ML von Franz better at)

This is not just the book where Jung seems to have invented the extraversion/introversion classification but also sketched out his model of the four basic psychological functions of the human mind: Sensation, thinking, feeling, intuition. Of which one is usually repressed enough to exert power in a way the patient is not wholly conscious of. Interesting analyses of Darwin, Kant, Nietzsche in here by the way.

here Jung compares his extraversion/introversion polarity to Nietzsche's Dionysian/Apollinian polarity except it's clear that Jung views both as dysfunction modes which I don't remember the 'tache man doing, William James apparently had similar observations put in his own language
