There are two ingredients to an army. One is a sympathetic population... He knew what the second ingredient of an army was. If a population believed in a cause but was too fearful to do anything about it, what they needed was someone to inspire them to bravery. The needed a leader.

Carifans speak common with what seems to be a Scottish accent, check.

I was offered this read because I reviewed Starship Troopers. So far, it feels more like William Shatner's Tek War series, Tek is actually the main character's name.

Wow, this started off pretty dark. The prose in the beginning is a but clunky with technical info, but I'm going to stick it out since some other folks on here said it gets better, but I'm reading some other light fluffy reads in the meantime to relax after a long day. This book covers a lot of hard issues like slavery and genocide. I thought is was interesting that the main character is within the autism spectrum.
