On to Mars. While reading though this book I’m
Always jotting notes on potential story hooks for RP games in this setting. There’s still a lot to get though, but also not enough. My favorite FFG needs more love!

From HB’s Bioroids to Jinteki’s clones to NBNs Network to Weyland’s Beanstalk, these are the big entities that shape this setting and were all explored in an appropriate order. Each section flows right into the next. Robots are great but their taking out jobs, many prefer clones because they are more personal, people are more connected than ever, and the beanstalk has made humanity a lasting solar species.

NBN and the Net has been an interesting read. Gives me a lot of ideas for when running games. Seems that holo-displays and AR overlays are the main way to interact with the net, especially for entertainment. Some do full immersive vr rigs and a few do deprivation. Even fewer yet would be brain mapping interfaces to be mentally connected to the net, but that wouldn’t really be for entertainment purposes it seems.

Finished the Jinteki section and still have a few lingering questions about clones. Still very satisfying section for story ideas and maybe my questions are just left open or are discussed in other places. We’ll see. Next corporation is NBN and we’ll learn all about their target marketing techniques and methods of social conditioning.
