Status Updates From Time Snake and Superclown

This book is so tiring, it's taken me months to finish it. Yet I feel compelled to read on, to find out all the twists.

My mistake. The twists were predictable and the 1st person narration is tedious. There are an average of 5 ellipses on every page. I guess that's supposed to be a stream of consciousness technique. Who knows.

I guess it's kind of weird for a late 70s sci-fi book, though.

The story is pretty interesting, but it's told in a heavy handed 1st person style that I can see will be tiring. Still, has a great campy retro feel.

Okay, I'm not very far in, but I've already noticed that perplexing idea in time travel where it is like time is passing in the past while it passes in the future. The main character leaves some past era of human history, then decides he needs to return, but rather then returning to the same time, or the moment he left, he travels back to the next day... like it's too late to go back.
