Jeffrey D. Niell argues that the phrase "from the least to the greatest" (Jeremiah quoted in Hebrews 8) does NOT teach that every person in the new covenant will know God but that all classes of people will (i.e. not just the priests). Also, he argues that the internalization of God's law is not new in the new covenant. He thinks that the fulfillment of the ceremonial law is what is new.

Chapter 5 has been the best so far. Mark E. Ross argues that circumcision is not taken as a sign and seal of faith but that righteousness will be given on the basis of faith. I'm at least in agreement that the Roman Catholic conception position of sacramentalism is unbiblical. Now if only I could be convinced of paedobaptism from an evangelical perspective!
