scenarios: either the pixies are a self aware race at war with humans, understandably, because humans respond to their mild attacks with disproportionate violence, or they're not self aware, and again humans respond to pixies normal instinct to feed and defence mechanism with disproportionate violence.
Anyway, I can't see a justification for a good person to do such a thing. Wouldn't give this to a child to (2/3)

Good start, but there's something that's bugging me. At a certain point, it's said that an apparently common practice, is ripping pixies heads off, to obtain some ingredient.
This strikes me as violent, and makes it hard for me to emphasise with the characters.
To make it worse, it looks like it tries to justify such a despicable act with the fact that pixies bite and destroy crops. Which leaves two open (1/3)

I'm quite enjoying this book but I'm not much of a fantasy fan, sometimes it makes it a bit hard for me to be fully immersed.
