p104-161 Almost done, and I cannot believe how much I’ve learned. This book is a reminder that Blackness can be understood in cinema as well. Sadly, African Americans were often casted and used in stereotypical ways. To make a white audience comfortable and unchallenged. But the author reminds us that film is an essential tool of disruption. To rebel against the status quo.
