Something is wrong with this situation. Black Canary is phishing for particular info. She's trying to keep Batgirl with her. This has to be happening in Oracle's head; Mad Hatter is trying to break into Oracle's head.

Ok, ok, a couple of things. 1) how did Barbara return to being Batgirl? I thought that would take a while longer? 2) what is up with these criminals in the literal Halloween get up? You've got a guy in a sombrero, another in a horned Viking helmet, and another with a cheese wedge hat.

You can take the Girl out of the Bat, but you can't take the Bat out the Girl. She so needed this after being partially paralyzed. It was so rewarding to see.

This is why you don't attempt a robbery in someone's home. They have the homefield advantage. They know where everything is. And this is Barbara Gordon aka the former Batgirl. Even wheelchair-bound, she's not defenseless.

Yep! Knew it! "Nice guy" was totally a criminal and was with the gang from earlier. Probably planned that attempted robbery earlier.

Oof, bad writing there. Making a guy be relieved that the girl he's taking out to dinner isn't a lesbian. But it does send up a red flag for me. That and the other wrong things he's said has set up red flags for me and makes me think he's a bad guy.

Wow. Even in the 90s there was some ableism and it was a topic among these comic book writers. Good on them being ahead of the curve! Although it does seem like modern writers have backtracked on that issue (among others).

I see that Oracle is using what she learned while she was with Amanda Waller and Taskforce X.

Human trafficking. Otherwise known as "slavery" in the modern media vernacular.

Another change in artist in the next arc. I guess that's going to be typical in the Birds of Prey comics in the future.

As it goes into comics, if you don't see a body, he's not dead.

Stop giving Lady Shiva your whip, Catwoman! She keeps using it against you! Though it is hilarious each time that she keeps yanking you rather than the other way around.

Ain't no way that anyone can block Lady Shiva, especially a nobody like this Braun guy. Off the top of my head, the people who can match her without metahuman abilities can be counted on one hand. Maybe two, if I research enough.

So, is this the first time that Black Canary has met Lady Shiva? Because in later BoP comics, she and Shiva face-off to see who is better.

This Devine guy sounds like a scumbag. A swindler but on a world stage rather than a local one. Sounds like a few people I know who are among the billionaire elite.

On the one hand, I think that the dam shouldn't even be there if that was where people were originally living. On the other hand, I don't want that dam destroyed if there are people living downstream. The flood from the dam would destroy them, and it'll be another "tragic" tick mark on this Devine guy's business, thereby giving him what he wants.

Might want to look into that slum village, Oracle. Since it's close to the dam, it's possible that they were forcibly moved off of the land to make room for it.

These are Black Canary's work clothes? I think I prefer the biker jacket and fishnets.

She's not even wearing her costume, and yet Black Canary got recognized by her blonde wig. Ha!

Waitaminute I thought Lucius Fox was African American? Or was that a recent change that came after Batman: The Animated Series and this comic was before that? *Looks at original published date* 1995. That was two years after BTAS started, I think. So, maybe not.

I'm pretty sure that this panel is poking fun at capitalism at the expense of, well, life and living.

I keep forgetting that Black Canary is not a natural blonde. At least not in pre-21st century comics.
