I'm trying! really trying to get into the hype of Greek history, myth, stories... I just think this is not the period of history for me.

Trying to make myself interested in ancient Greece! Haven't been successsful so far, will a non fiction original source work better?

Honestly these are fascinating to read, just comparing each life to each other as well as other ancient figures that I'm knowledgable about (ngl mostly Alexander) is very interesting. Although I fear I won't be able to remember the details of who is who... maybe I'll make a brief summary note of each

Taking power as archon during a politically divided time, Solon nonetheless refused to become a tyrant. Solon laid the groundwork for Athenian democracy, he removed harsh draconian laws, reformed the social classes, given even the lowest ranking thetes the right to be on a jury and speak in the assembly. Interestingly, he also established a law forbidding anyone to not choose a side during a civil conflict.
