Status Updates From The Xenotext: Book 1

I need to stop reading 10 books at time but I saw this on Instagram and, reader -- I'm barking.

"Every pawn toils alongside its brethren, / each legion bidden to the field at dawn / (no pardon for the idlers) – but at dusk, / even armies seek relief from their drills."
Colony Collapse Disorder, 17.

I have to read this for school and I'm already dreading it a bit bc it combines two things I've never been a fan of: poetry and science. That being said, I'm also vaguely interested as to how those two things are going to play together so we'll see how this goes.
