I love this book! People who don’t understand the context of Haiti may think it racist but that’s not what the author/narrator is saying. But this generation is so ignorant they will read chapter 3 and freak out.

Oh wow, this is well written! They do make several statements tying slavery to the war which aren’t correct, but if they didn’t mention it as a cause, some of the statements would be more accurate. I love Henry and this fire-eater group 🥰 I am nervous about the mentions of the Knights of the Golden Circle 😅 And I’m a little thrown off by their being a Dick Mason who’s good at Math 😅
