The beginning is very good and the history seems well-researched (not that I have the expertise to tell), but the author goes on a long tangent about the history of the eugenics movement around the 20 or 25% mark that, while obviously related to autism history, is far more detailed than necessary in a book whose topic is supposed to be autism. Disturbing anecdotes make it hard to progress through this part.
