Status Updates From The Kingdom of Speech

The way Wolfe derides Chomsky and “political correctness” makes any point he is trying to make seem moot. I appreciate the humor he is using to explain what could otherwise be dry material, but I can’t say I agree with his points of view. His writing makes him seem chummy, but honestly, it just makes him seem like a jerk.

I am listening to this an an audiobook and admittedly, it’s not quite what I was expecting. It’s funny, but, maybe a little too biased to be helpful. The author is clearly opinionated but may or may not be truly educated on the topic. He seems to have a pretty decent set of footnotes (which are read as part of the text on the audiobook). Will probably finish the book, but won’t take it too seriously.
