I almost gave up on this book after the beginning which recounted sad memories of Cyril’s neglected childhood, but love Sara Alexi as an author and very glad I stuck with it. At 21% in, seeing the beginnings of Sabira’s caring redemption of the psychically wounded Cyril, which is wonderful and more typical Alexi writing.
