Now, as I'm reading the final essay ('Ali Ibn Abi Talib's (A.S) Ethics of Mercy in the Mirror of the Persian Sufi Tradition) of the book I've grown to respect so much, it seems that the soul of the essay lies in Rumi's famous Qasida:
Shahe shariyatam tuen, pire tariqotam tuen
That Ali practiced justice at the intersection of the Divine Law and Mercy.
