Status Updates From Awakening

Just as I was thinking that this book adds nothing i didn't get in the show, they do the "Zeon is tired speech", and dig into the limits and problems of democracy, as well as horrifying, but extremely interesting discussion about crimes of war. We are back!

Char being called Sha here just feels.... deeply wrong.

So far, I'm enjoying this book a ton! The first half feels like one detailed and tactical action scene after another, and so far, the second half seems to be heavier on the politics and backstory of the Gundam universe. So basically, everything I like on a novelization.

I also found this book to be surprisingly gory at the beginning, and generally much more adult than either the show or film.
