A trial that may not end in favor of the Molly Maguires has begun. Two members are being tried for murder. The lawyers on both sides are strong, talented and determined to win. The public has come to a point where it will not tolerate murder at will of anyone in their communities.

Fascinating! I find this book so very interesting. Reading about the Irish and their lives in Pennsylvania mines is enlightening. No wonder the Molly Maguires evolved. Living in hovels with dirt floors, leaky walls and windows with no glass; working from age seven for little money; forced to buy from company stores or lose your job; and scrounging fuel from slag heaps to warm their homes encouraged them to rebel.
