So far some really sound exegesis. But Perriman’s conclusions and applications display some seriously frustrating ethical hermeneutics; ethical hermeneutics which seem to re-muddy waters previously given helpful clarity through the aforementioned exegesis.

A good first chapter on the meaning of κεφαλή, showing the problematic nature of pegging it as either "authority" or "source". Perriman stretches things a bit too far in trying to entirely rule out "authority" and this becomes increasingly apparent through the second chapter as he bends over backwards to avoid any connotations of headship that involve authority.
