Status Updates From 27 Magic Words

Brook and Kobi go with their grandmother to their Uncle Wim's house. They have a lot of questions about some of the things, and his house is very strange. It seems like it is falling apart and it does not have much furniture. They go to take a bath and the tub takes an hour to fill up because the water barely comes out. They drop their grandmother off at the airport after getting sheets and towels.

Kobi and Brook's grandma tells them that they are going to stay with their uncle because their grandma wants to get married. They want to just stay there, but their grandma is going to go on a honeymoon after the wedding, so they need to stay with someone else. They go through airport security and Kobi does not want to get go of the key in her pocket. They eat Chicago style hotdogs and see their uncle.

Very enjoyable, I really love hearing about these sisters.

There's a lot going for this book. It's annoying how Kobi refers to her father who works as a magician as The Great Aligherie, even the narrator calls him this, surely he'd just be dad or Kobi's dad. Who calls their father, the managing director, the teaching assistant, the night watchman.......

"Grandmamma arranged seven colbalt-blue vases on the mantle....She filled the first one for her first husband...she filled the next one for their mother and the Great Alighieri.....the next on for Grandmamma's second husband....the next for....Wimbledon, their half uncle..."
