The central result of loop quantum gravity is indeed that space is not continuous, that it is not infinitely divisible but made up of grains, or "atoms of space." These are extremely minute: a billion billion times smaller than the smallest atomic nuclei.

I'm reminded of The Subtle Knife. Finding the snag in the fabric of space, and cutting open a hole into a new dimension. If only you had a knife sharp enough.

How philosophical. But then, the nature of reality inherently is. If a tree falls in a forest? It makes me think of interaction between humans - how solitude affects memory without others to bounce off of. Or perhaps it is more comforting. Reveling in how even alone, you never are. You are touching the universe.

Damn it. The lessons themselves are indeed brief. But the problem is that every single paragraph has me looking up more articles and information. Damn squirrel brain.
