Time seems to "flow," whereas the quantity of butter or location in space does not "flow."

*quirks an eyebrow*
It does if you melt it. :P

*cavalierly dusts off hands* Whelp! There you go. Heat creates time. Solved it. You're welcome.

Our universe may have been born from a bounce in a prior phase, passing through an intermediate phase in which there was neither space nor time.

The central result of loop quantum gravity is indeed that space is not continuous, that it is not infinitely divisible but made up of grains, or "atoms of space." These are extremely minute: a billion billion times smaller than the smallest atomic nuclei.

I'm reminded of The Subtle Knife. Finding the snag in the fabric of space, and cutting open a hole into a new dimension. If only you had a knife sharp enough.

Or does it mean, as it seems to me, that we must accept the idea that reality is only interaction?

How philosophical. But then, the nature of reality inherently is. If a tree falls in a forest? It makes me think of interaction between humans - how solitude affects memory without others to bounce off of. Or perhaps it is more comforting. Reveling in how even alone, you never are. You are touching the universe.

Damn it. The lessons themselves are indeed brief. But the problem is that every single paragraph has me looking up more articles and information. Damn squirrel brain.

*sings* I'll be seeing you...
(unless you're in a black hole)
(or beyond the cosmological horizon)

Physics Fanfic Headcanon:
The Initial Singuality was like, the biggest, tightest, squeeziest hug ever before the Big Goodbye. Go out. Exist. Be.

One little mention of the Big Bang, and there I go again, getting weepy over cosmological horizons. The past forever out of reach, and the future that will never know us.

It feels like a ship receding into the distance. Or is it the shore? Either way, it's the eternal farewell. Damn Pathos of Time.
