Status Updates From A Mercy

Florens chapter was relatively short this time around. Seeing Rebekka’s perspective, even while ill, is very interesting because in a way, she views herself at the same status as the likes of Lina and Florens. While still more privileged, Rebekka has countless constraints because she is a woman. On top of that, she was, in a way, sold off to be Jacob’s wife.

It’s very interesting have Florens chapters in the 1st person. While obviously stream of consciousness, it feels like a conversation, not exactly a letter because even in those there can be less jumping around. It feels as though Florens is recalling everything that happened directly to who I assume to be the Blacksmith. And I really like how the other chapters are in the 3rd person, it shows it is Florens story.
