Status Updates From Follow Me Into Darkness

Kris Ripper's "The Queen's reflection" had me feeling anxious almost the whole time. The end allowed me some deep breaths and a guarded sense of hope for Isah. Thank goodness. What an insight into gender dysphoria.
Now onto Roan Parish's..

Loved Santino Hassell's and JC Lillis's stories. Having to work my way through the next and we'll see what no 4 holds...

Roan Parrish - Touched - I read this in two parts with a couple of days between. I will have to re-read it at some point. It's a beautiful story with gorgeous imagery, and it's a bit of a love letter to New Orleans. It's not a happy story, but it's so full of life I can't say it's a sad story either. It stands alone as a bit of art.

Impressive. I'm stunned. Gosh, Roan can write. I need more.

This kinda wasn't my story. It's well written, like I've come to expect by now from the author, but I just couldn't connect with it. It's kinda sad and just too much Shakespeare for me, lol. I can't believe I'm bold enough to say this.
I think this is a good story, just not for me.

Holy fuck, this was good! Just wow. I mean, I love Sanino's books, but I'm kinda really hard to impress with short stories. This was really great!

I don't read anthologies in order, but leave my favorites for the end, figuring I'll end with a like/love.

JR Gray - Masked - Read/skimmed, I couldn't connect with this one.

JC Lillis - If We Be Friends - This is outstanding. I don't think I've ever cried over a short story before. I loved the MC and the way Shakespeare and acting was interwoven. A beautiful story, I will be looking for more from this author.
